    Fresh from our butcher’s meat room, this premium ground beef fat is carefully trimmed, cleaned, and coarsely ground in small batches. Perfect for DIY tallow rendering, it delivers a pure, clean fat ideal for high-heat cooking, skincare recipes, or traditional food preservation.

    Sourced from the same high-quality beef you know and love right from our meat room - the fats left from our ground sirloin, and steaks, this ground fat is easy to work with—just heat gently to transform it into golden, shelf-stable tallow.

    ✨ How to Render Beef Tallow
    Rendering tallow is simple—here’s how to do it at home:

    Prep Your Fat:

    Keep cold until ready to use (cold fat is easier to handle).

    Slowly Heat:

    Place fat in a heavy-bottomed pot or slow cooker.

    Set to low heat—do not rush it!

    As it heats, fat will slowly melt and separate. Stir occasionally.

    Strain & Store:

    Once most fat has melted and bits have browned (2–4 hours), line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth.

    Pour hot liquid fat carefully through the strainer into heat-safe jars.

    Allow jars to cool fully before sealing.

    Cool & Use:

    Once cooled, tallow will become creamy white.

    Store in the pantry (short-term) or refrigerator/freezer (longer-term).

    🍳 What About the Crispy Bits Left Behind?
    Don’t toss them! The flavorful beef cracklings (sometimes called “scraps” or “gribenes”) are delicious:

    Season with salt and pepper while warm.

    Use as a savory topping for salads or potatoes.

    Mix into scrambled eggs.
