Part of the reason we get an incredibly low price on this product vs. the same product in the grocery store is because these are the imperfect cuts and slices. So some slices will be thick, some thin, some chunks as well. It is basically the "rejects" when they are not cut to exact sizes and perfectly rounded like the retail version. If you purchase this product, you are agreeing that you can receive it fresh or frozen. If fresh, it will need to be frozen soon after you get it (repackage in smaller servings is best). You also know you are getting mismatched cuts :)
This is a 10 lb case of fresh Canadian bacon slices that comes in 2 - 5lb bags inside of the case, making it easier to split a case with a neighbor! Each bag contains around 135 bacon slices (give or take as the case is based on weight) for about 270 total slices.
If you get a frozen batch: They are frozen in a big chunk, so they need to be defrosted and then repacked and refrozen. If they come fresh, they have never been frozen before this so you can defrost meats twice before losing quality. When you buy meat from the grocery store, they tell you not to refreeze if you defrost, this is because they have already frozen and defrosted at least once to sell fresh. So they have already been through a fresh to frozen to fresh cycle once already.
