5 of Our Favorite Recipes to Make in January

Whether you’re trying to stick to your new year’s resolutions and plan new recipes for every night of the week, or you're looking for a lot of soups and comfort foods to get you through the darkness of winter, we have 5 great recipes that will be absolutely delicious on any day of the month this January! (and beyond)

Bennion Beef Wagyu Brisket

If you’ve been around the Co-Op very long, you will know that the Wagyu Beef Shares are a personal favorite because of the delicious flavor they bring to every recipe you put them in!

One of the first things you do before getting ready to prepare your Bennion Beef Wagyu Brisket is to get your smoker ready. It will take about 12 hours for an average brisket to cook or until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 185℉. The great part about the brisket is that it has naturally rich and flavorful meat, so you won’t need to add much to it. You can put on your favorite dry rub or simple herbs and spices to really put it over the top if you want to.

You can pair your brisket with some sweet potatoes or even throw some of your favorite vegetables on the smoker when you get closer to the brisket being completed to round out an all-around hearty meal.

Depending on the size of your brisket, this will also provide a perfect source of protein for a savory sandwich the next day.

Southwest Chicken Skillet

We have had some great deals on chicken lately, and that has us wanting to put this 40-pound case of chicken breasts to work in our meal plans. The nice thing about chicken breasts is that they can be used in countless easy recipes and are a great option any time of year.

Use our Southwest Smoked Chicken Breast as a shortcut.

This Southwest Chicken Skillet has become one of our favorite meals and for good reason! Who doesn’t love a one-skillet meal that brings in some fun flavors that sometimes get lost in the winter season?

If you have some leftover chicken from a previous meal in the week, this would be a great place to use it! Throw together your chicken, black beans, red enchilada sauce, green chiles, chopped bell peppers, onion, corn, cheese, and some lime juice, mix it all together, and then serve over some fresh rice!

World's Best Honey Garlic Pork Chops

On cold winter days, you can grab a couple of delicious pork chops out of your

10-pound case, and with a few minutes of prep time and about 45 minutes in the oven, your belly will feel great, and you will almost forget about how dreary it is outside!

While many people might expect to find honey, soy sauce, and garlic in a typical glaze, ketchup is the unexpected ingredient that really sets these pork chops over the top and makes them the World’s Best!

If you’re looking for a better way to get a balanced plate of protein, carbs, and fats, be sure and pair these delicious pork chops with some tasty brussels sprouts for a solid overall winter meal.

Creamy Bacon Chicken

This is one of our favorite January recipes because not only is it a simple dinner that can be ready in around 30 minutes, but it is also a great way to use up more of the great chicken deals offered here at the Co-Op!

If you have soft spots for recipes that include a creamy sauce along with the robust flavors of bacon and lemon juice, this is a great recipe to add to your winter meal rotations.

Pair it with some green beans, asparagus, or even some root vegetables thrown in the air fryer, and you will be completely set!

Homemade Beef Bourguignon

This is one of those comforting dishes that might take a little more time to get from the start to the dinner table, but in the middle of winter, it can be a great way to put your hibernation time to good use for some real food.

Our pro tip is to start with our quality beef and pair it with some tender potatoes from either your own garden or even another local farmer if possible. Using high-quality, fresh ingredients is what really takes delicious recipes to the next level.
