Bacon is one of the most universal meats on the market. Some of our favorite ways to use it range from the main course to just the right topping, as it is crumbled up and sprinkled over just about dish imaginable! The only thing you really need to focus on is making sure you are using good bacon!

Luckily at the Co-Op, we have a monthly staple that gives you15 pounds of honey-cured, thick-cut bacon that is cut from the center of the pork belly and gives a quality and flavor that you would typically only expect from fine restaurants.

Letโ€™s look at some of our favorite bacon recipes to put your case of bacon to good use no matter what time of day it might be!

In this classic sandwich, we used the famous bacon rounds, but since they arenโ€™t available with every monthโ€™s pick-up options, you can always sub in crispy strips of bacon in its place. Paired with staples that you probably already have on hand, including mayo, tomatoes, and spinach, this sandwich can be pulled off in a hurry!

You can also never go wrong with the classic bacon cheeseburger. Pair it with some sweet potatoes cut into fries and throw them in the air fryer for a few minutes! This meal would be great if you need to make something in a hurry before heading out to the next soccer practice or piano lesson.

Bacon for Baking

Another great quality that bacon brings to the table is the ability to use enjoy not only the final product but also the bacon fat it leaves behind! You can use your leftover bacon grease as a base in your next pie crust or throw it in with some green beans and new potatoes for a flavor that you canโ€™t get from anything else! Bacon drippings are like a high-dollar seasoning, except you get them for free when you purchase your bacon!

Bacon in Appetizers

Bacon is the perfect addition to a variety of appetizers. When crumbled up into bacon bits, it makes the perfect topping for a creamy dip, deviled eggs, and even the classic seven-layered salad.
